Math has always been my least favorite subject. For that matter, I refuse to let my kids suffer the way I did. If it had been fun from the get-go, I probably would have a different perspective. But for as long as I have remembered, math was something I dreaded. Fortunately, there are many ways to make math fun, and it is especially fun at the age my kids are now! Although they are young, there is foundation to be made in every academic subject, and it will include FUN!
Haley loves these Cuisenaire Rods. Most of the time she will just take them off the shelf, and sort them into categories. Sometimes I will see her making patterns, but she is definitely a sorter. Here I traced each rod on a piece of paper, and colored them in. Haley matched each rod - she loved this!
While Haley matched up her rods, Gavin counted and sorted beans :)

Looks so fun! I love having fun with math, at first I thought that those rods were from "Math-U-See", have you used or heard of it? I used it in Kindergarten for Jada!
