Baked Apple Cinnamon French Toast

This is perfect for a time-crunch Sunday breakfast, Saturday morning brunch or anytime of the week! We had this for our weekly Breakfast for Dinner night with southern hash browns and scrambled eggs. 

1 loaf of french bread, torn
6 eggs
1-1/2 C half & half
1 t vanilla extract
1/2 C sugar
1 1/4 t cinnamon
1-1/2 t cornstarch
2-1/2 C chopped apples
1/4 C butter, melted

Place bread in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, mix eggs, half & half and vanilla together. Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight (or prepare all this in the morning if having breakfast for dinner). Combine sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch together, fold in apples and place in a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Place chilled bread mixture on top of the apple mixture; drizzle butter over bread. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.
