Pine Cone Bird Feeder

For Day 2 of Helping the Earth Week the kids made pine cone bird feeders! 




We made our own birdseed using dried cranberries, raw pumpkin seeds, raw sunflower seeds, and oats. We also used peanut butter as an adhesive. 




We made it into a fine mixture using a food chopper. You can use a mini food processor, but ours is unfortunately out of commission at the moment.




 String or ribbon can be used as hangers, but we went green of course and used handles from old gift bags. Here are the kids having a blast making their birdfeeders :)

Some little girl apparently had other things in mind for these...

This really didn't surprise me...

Now back to our original plan LOL


Now we just have to wait and see what our feathery friends think of them :)
