Harvest Time

If you have little ones, you're probably familiar with some of the popular board games like Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, etc. I've found that, along with fun togetherness, these games are great for early math skills, colors, etc.

What I love about the games from Family Pastimes is that they are co-operative games. Instead of competition, the objective is to work/play together for a common goal. We have shared our fun with the game Early Years in our Letter Tt Unit earlier in the year.

Yesterday while Haley was napping Gavin and I played our newest favorite game from Family Pastimes called Harvest Time!

Ages: 3-7
Game Objective (as quoted from HT instruction sheet): Each player looks after one garden to harvest, but the object is for the players to harvest as many vegetables overall as they can before Winter comes. Only by helping each other will the harvesting go well for all the neighbors. Note that we are not "fighting against" Winter. Winter just comes naturally and we try our best to gather food before it does.

I also love that it includes rules to an "extended" game: The Planting Game. Instead of harvesting, the objective is to plant as many vegetables together before Autumn.

Here are a couple photos of our fun with Harvest Time:

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
- Matthew 9:37-38

  1. I live in Oregon. How did you get your games? I went to the website and was just wondering how much their games cost on average for littles and if you ordered directly? Sorry if this is annoying, they just look great! By the way I am drinking tea again and so are my kids.

  2. Hi Beth! This is not annoying AT ALL! I ordered our games last year and at that time I didn't know of their website so I purchased ours through Amazon.com. The prices and condition vary when you purchase there. Ordering directly, prices start as low as $7.00. Harvest Time costs $10 and shipping is $8.50 for anything $10 and under. When you request a catalog they will actually send you an attachment listing stores in your area that sell their games!

To request a catalog email info@familypastimes.com Their customer service is excellent!

SO happy to hear that you and your kids are drinking tea! I just had pumpkin spice tea with a splash of cinnamon-vanilla cream - YUM!!

    Many blessings!!!!
